Mitsubishi mulling partnership with Nissan

FOLLOWING the recently stalled plans to re-badge Renault sedans, reports have surfaced indicating that Mitsubishi is now eyeing a partnership with fellow Japanese car makers Nissan instead.Reports allege that Mitsubishi are in talks with Nissan about working on at least one sedan model. So far details have been very limited, but Mitsubishi have announced that the Lancer successor will take precedence since it is a global model.

It was also thought that the planned re-badge Renault models would stand in as Mitsubishi's long awaited Galant replacement. Sources inside the firm also declined to confirm whether or not the company was talking with Nissan but said a partnership with a Japanese competitor is one possible option. They also stated the company could develop the new car by themselves if needed.
