SWEDES, Danes, Norwegians and Finns are the top international travelers in Europe, according to a report published by online travel retailer eDreams this week. The Nordic countries placed just ahead of France in the ranking.
With an average trip length of 6.5 days and an average €261 spent on airfare per trip, travelers from the Scandinavian countries and Finland seem to be more invested in international travel than their counterparts in France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Germany.
The Nordic populations also traveled more frequently than the European average.
The French were just behind the Nordic populations, with an average airfare budget of €248 and average duration of just 3.2 days per trip. Britons came in next with a slightly lower budget (€232) and an average trip length of three days.
At the bottom of the ranking, the Italians spent a mere €145 on airfare and remained in their destination just 1.48 days on average.
In terms of destinations, France remained the top choice for travelers from Italy, the Nordic countries and Spain. The French, on the other hand, were most likely to head to Spain for their international travels.
The report is based on an analysis of flights sold on eDreams to customers in France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany and the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) between April 2013 and 2014. – AFP Relaxnews
