Enhanced new Volvo S60

VOLVO Malaysia officially introduced the enhanced and face-lifted version of its S60 saloon model for the Malaysian market earlier this week. Two variants were announced, comprised firstly of the S60 T4 base model, followed by the range-topping S60 T5 variant.
Aesthetically, the enhanced new S60 gains a mildly restyled exterior with notable new additions such as a pair of LED daytime running lights placed in the front bumper, and the T5 variant’s new set of 17-inch wheels. On board, the cabin has also been revised slightly. Notably, the range-topping T5 now gains with a digital instrument panel paired with an eight-inch adaptive digital display, plus a DVD infotainment system with navigation and voice control functions.
Carried over from the previous iteration are the powertrains, meaning no changes to the T4's 1.6-litre 180hp turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine and T5’s larger 2.0-litre unit with 240hp. Also retained is the six-speed dual-clutch automatic that manages power to the front wheels.
More importantly, the enhanced S60 saloon now boasts improved standard safety features. The City Safety autonomous braking now functions at higher speeds of up to 50km/h, and the BLIS blind spot indicator upgraded from the previous car’s camera-based to a new radar-based unit working in conjunction with a cross-traffic alert system. The rangetopping T5 variant, on the other hand, gains more with the addition of pedestrian and cyclist detection systems, as well as the brand’s Road Sign Information (RSI) system.
Available for viewing and purchases at all authorised Volvo dealers nationwide, the enhanced new S60 T4 is priced at RM221,888 whilst the higher-spec S60 T5 is tagged at RM268,888. All prices include Volvo’s offer of a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, free service, and free breakdown assist benefits.
